Watsu® aquatic bodywork

To float, to be held unconditionally by water.  The aquatic world offers a fluid expanse for both mind and body.  Watsu® is an invitation to surrender and to experience a new sense of liberty.

Watsu® is a passive form of aquatic therapy performed in warm water. The body is gently guided into various shapes to stretch muscles and joints whilst acupressure is applied to soften mental and physical tensions.  Water presents us with the unique quality of hyrdrostatic pressure which not only buoys our bodies but gently presses the skin and musculature.  This stimulates our blood circulation and decompresses our joints.  The nervous system responds by increasing the relaxation-healing response and decreases the stress response.

A great compliment to land based bodywork, Watsu® facilitates the release of stress and holding patterns held in the mind and musculature, supports sleep and digestion and improves muscle and joint pains.
